The Visionary- Elon Musk

If you haven't heard of Elon Musk- founder of the Space Exploration Technologies Corporation, you must have hidden somewhere veeeeeery deep underground for last two decades. However, even if you know who is he, you probably don't know much about his history.

Elon Musk was born in South Africa in 1971. He spent his early childhood with his brother Kimbal and sister Tosca.
Being 10, the introverted Elon developed an interest in computers. During that time, his parents got divorced. Young Musk taught himself how to program, and when he was 12 he made his first software- a game called Blastar.

In 1989, he moved to Canada (his mother was Canadian) to attend Queen’s University and avoid mandatory service in the South African military, but he left in 1992 to study business and physics at the University of Pennsylvania.

“I don’t have an issue with serving in the military per se, but serving in the South African army suppressing black people just didn’t seem like a really good way to spend time.” said Musk.

He graduated with an undergraduate degree in economics and stayed for a second bachelor’s degree in physics.

After leaving Penn, Elon Musk headed to Stanford University in California to pursue a Ph.D in energy physics. However, his move was timed perfectly with the Internet boom, and he dropped out of Stanford after just two days.

He launched his first company, Zip2 Corporation right away. An online city guide, Zip2 was soon providing content for the new Web sites of both the New York Times and the Chicago Tribune, and in 1999, a division of Compaq Computer Corporation bought Zip2 for $307 million in cash and $34 million in stock options. Later on Must developed an interest in space and "clean" energy, which eventually led to setting up SpaceX as well as Tesla Motors.

Do you think he is one of the most successful men on the planet? Let us know and comment below!
