"Oscars"

"Oscars" or the Academy Awards is an annual American awards ceremony hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Its aim is to honor the greatest movies of the following year by awarding best acting performances, directors, scriptwriters, special effects, soundtracks and more. It is a huge event in the USA where all the celebrities from the film industry gather together to applaud each others' outstanding work.

Generally, there is always at least one host who is in charge of the whole event. They could be actors - like Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman or other popular personas like Ellen DeGeneres. They always provide some jokes and make the Oscars even more entertaining.

During this event there are many categories presented. The nominees are enlisted and then the winner goes on the stage to give his or her speech. It is an incredibly emotional moment, so it is sometimes extremely hard for them to speak with the limit. The speeches are very often personal, but there are cases where the winner uses this opportunity to speak about an important life matter.

The next 89th Academy Awards honoring the films of 2016 will take place
on February 26, 2017. The host will be Jimmy Kimmel - a popular  American television host, producer, writer, comedian, and voice actor. The nominated movies haven't been announced yet, but there some guesses. Hopefully, we will find out soon!

TASK:
1. Watch some Oscar speeches (they can be found on YouTube). Choose the best one (in your opinion) and tell the rest of the class why you picked this one.
